Exocet Kona Surf Windsurfing Board 170
The exciting Kona Concept called for a supplementary model, so we did the logical thing and developed a smaller version, the KONA SURF. This “sister ship” is shorter with less width, yet the duck tail remain at the same length as the Kona One. As a result the board feels ultra short ONCE on the plane. Despite reduced width, we have kept the exact proportions of the original Kona. The centerboard is still big enough to provide efficient railing up wind, while the 38 cm fin will give the feel of being on a fast free ride board. This “short longboard” is a natural wave tool. The Kona Surf will allow you to surf waves of any size, and the pintail outline ensure excellent grip through carves at any speed. The KONA SURF features a soft EVA deck and rail skin - for added comfort. Arguably the most comfy light wind Freestyle board on the market. The characteristic subtle shape combines stability, maneuverability, control and excellent sub planning performance. Cruising and racing in all conditions becomes a thrill and performing classic freestyle tricks becomes a breeze. The Kona’s natural wave abilities is not only a bonus, but the most appreciated aspect among many sailors world wide…It is as demanding for advanced sailors as it is easy for “newbies” because of its adaptable design characteristics with a gently curved outline, soft rails and flat rocker. Step on it and give it what you have, and you will be surprised to see what it can do. The ideal family toy, blending all freeride, freestyle, wave and racing elements of the sport into one plug and play tool. The Kona combines the best from the past and present with a lot of input from the classic longboard surf designs with its ability to ride soft, long waves in marginal conditions. Additionally, the planning threshold has been dramatically reduced by implementing a “step tail” which shortens the waterline when powered up, and boost the board on the plane much earlier than conventional longboards.
